Some adducts of bidentate N-ligands with arsenic trichloride and tribromide

Abstract

The Raman and i.r. spectra of some solid 1:1 and 2:1 adducts of arsenic trichloride and tribromide with 2,2′-bi-pyridyl, 1,10-phenanthroline, and o-phenylenebisdimethylamine are reported. Various structural models are considered but, because of the low symmetry of the complexes, no firm stereochemical conclusions are drawn. Some solution molecular weight and conductivity data are reported.
