Reactions of trans-chlorodicarbonyl(cyano-olefin)rhodium complexes of the type trans-[Rh(CO)2LXCl](L = ligand, X = cyano-olefin) with bidentate ligands

Abstract

Reactions of trans-[Rh(CO)2LXCl] with bidentate ligands (Y) containing nitrogen or sulphur donor atoms afford cationic complexes of the type [RhYLX]Cl (Y =o-phenanthroline, 2,2′-bipyridyl, o-phenylenediamine, ethylenediamine, or 1,2-bis(phenylthio)ethane; L = Ph3P, pyridine, or p-toluidine; X = tetracyanoethylene and fumaronitrile).
