The conformation of histamine in solution: 1H nuclear magnetic resonance study

Abstract

In contrast to the solid-state, the 1H n.m.r. spectrum in D2O solution of the histamine univalent cation indicates that the –CH2CH2N+ side-chain has approximately equal proportions of the trans-rotamer and both gauche-rotamers.
