Reaction of pyrylium salts with methylhydrazine

Abstract

The reaction of (1; R = Ph or Me) with methyl-hydrazine leads to a variety of products, (2e), (3d), (3e), (5), (6a), and (7), depending on the selected pyrylium salt and reaction conditions.
