A simple micro method for the determination of copper in blood serum
Abstract
The simple micro method described is based on the principle that copper catalyses the reduction of iron(III) salts with thiosulphate and that the rate of reduction is proportional to the concentration of copper.
This technique for the determination of copper in blood serum is found to be statistically superior to the diethyldithiocarbamate method, and is not affected by the ions of iron, zinc, calcium and magnesium, or by glucose.
