Ammonium dioxalato-oxotitanate(IV): a new standard compound

Abstract

Pure ammonium dioxalato-oxotitanate(IV), (ammonium titanyl oxalate), (NH4)2[TiO(C2O4)2].H2O, has been shown to be an excellent multi-purpose titanium reagent as it is easier to handle and has wider applications than the similar primary standards previously used. It can also be useful as an oxalate primary standard. On low temperature ignition the complex yields high purity titanium dioxide which may be of use in monocrystal production.
