Studies in the thermochemistry of organic sulphites and sulphates. Part 1.—Heats of combustion and formation of some dialkyl sulphites and sulphates

Abstract

The gas-phase heats of formation of the following are reported; dimethyl, diethyl, methyl ethyl, d-n-propyl and di-n-butyl sulphites; dimethyl, diethyl, di-n-propyl and di-n-butyl sulphates. These have been evaluated via their heats of combustion and vaporization. The mean dissociation energies of the S—O single bonds have been derived.
