Solvent effects in the nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy of monosaccharides. Part II. Examination of the spectral characteristics of acetylated monosaccharides in various solvents

Abstract

The effect of a range of solvents on the n.m.r. spectrum of penta-O-acetyl-α-D-glucopyranose has been studied. The spectral characteristics of a series of acetylated aldose and aldoside derivatives in pyridine and in perfluorobenzene are reported. The trends observed are discussed.
