Ionic processes in the radiolysis of nitrous oxide

Abstract

The addition of small amounts of sulphur hexafluoride to nitrous oxide before irradiation reduces the nitrogen yield by an amount which indicates that more than one nitrogen molecule is produced for each electron arising from the ionisation of the nitrous oxide.
