Reactions of hydroxymethylene ketones. Part II. Other routes for the preparation of isoxazoles and pyrazoles

Abstract

The reactions of cinnamoylacetaldehydes with acetyl chloride, ammonia, o-phenylenediamine, and semicarbazide have been studied, and the compounds obtained therefrom have been converted into styryl-isoxazoles and -pyrazoles.
