Spectroscopic studies on organometallic compounds. Part XV. Infrared spectra of pentacarbonylmetal fluorocarbon complexes in the carbonyl stretching region

Abstract

An analysis has been made of the carbonyl stretching frequencies of complexes of formula RFM(CO)5(M = Mn or Re, and RF is a monodentate fluorocarbon radical). Force constants have been calculated, from which the possible occurrence of fluorocarbon–metal π-bonding in these compounds is indicated.
