Crystal and molecular structure of bis[tetracarbonyltriethylphosphinemanganese(0)]

Abstract

Bis[tetracarbonyltriethylphosphinemanganese(0)] crystallises as orange prisms in the space group Aba2 with unit-cell parameters a= 15·94, b= 14·78, and c= 11·60 Å. A partial three-dimensional X-ray structural analysis has converged to R= 0·089, and the molecule has been found to bear a striking resemblance to the structure of decacarbonyldimanganese with the carbonyl groups trans to the metal–metal bond replaced by triethylphosphine ligands.
