Dielectric absorption in polycrystalline and single crystal dioctadecyl ether

Abstract

Dielectric absorption of single crystal and polycrystalline samples of dioctadecyl ether has been measured as a function of temperature. The total absorption was a maximum at a temperature about 30°C below the melting point. Differences between the annealing behaviour of single and polycrystalline samples are described.
