Relationships between the hydrogen content and electrical resistance of palladium + silver alloys

Abstract

Variation of relative electrical resistance R/R0 and the temperature coefficient α of electrical resistance have been studied as a function of the hydrogen content of a series of Pd+Ag alloys with compositions ranging from 0–55 % Ag during both absorption and desorption of hydrogen at 25°C. No pronounced hysteresis of relationships was detected for alloys containing [gt-or-equal] 19.1 % Ag. Correlations between changes in the form of the relationships and changes of phase constitution have been discussed.
