Pyrrolizidine alkaloids. Biosynthesis of the angelate component of heliosupine

Abstract

[u-14C]-L-Isoleucine is specifically incorporated into the angelate component of heliosupine in Cynoglossum officinale L. The relationship between angelic acid and seneciphyllic acid biosynthesis is discussed.
