Thermochemistry of transition-metal complexes. Part II. CoL2Cl2 complexes; L = pyridine, α-picoline, and triphenylphosphine

Abstract

A Calvet microcalorimeter has been used to measure the heats at 30° of the dissociations CoL2Cl2(cryst.) CoCL2(cryst.)+ 2L(liq.), where L = pyridine or α-picoline. The heat of the reaction Co(PPh3)2Cl2(cryst.) CoCl2(cryst.)+ 2PPh3(cryst.) has also been determined at 25° from solution calorimetry, by use of an adiabatic reaction calorimeter.
