Unimolecular photodissociation of keten

Abstract

RRKM unimolecular theory has been applied to the photodissociation of keten vapour. The relative rate of dissociation as a function of temperature and exciting wavelength is shown to be consistent with a scheme in which a radiationless conversion from the first excited singlet state is the rate-controlling step.
