Thermochemistry of some reactions of aqueous hydrazine. Part II. KIO3 and HIO3

Abstract

Measurements are reported of the heats of reaction at 25° of crystalline potassium iodate and of crystalline iodic acid with excess of aqueous hydrazine hydrochloride solutions, from which the standard heats of formation, ΔHf°[KIO3, c]=–119·46 kcal./mole, ΔHf°[HIO3, c]=–55·41 kcal./mole are derived.
