Steroid amines. Part I. 17β-Aminoandrostane derivatives

Abstract

The Leuckart–Wallach reaction has been utilised for the conversion of 17-oxo-steroids into a wide range of 17β-amino-androst-5-en-3β-ol and 17β-amino-5α-androstan-3β-ol derivatives. Subsequent reactions furnished corresponding 4-en-3-ones, 5α- and 5β-3-ones, all four isomers of 17β-pyrrolidine-1′-ylandrostan-3-ol, and some 3-desoxy-derivatives, e.g., 17β-piperidino-5α-androstane.
