A convenient conversion of some N-(substituted benzylidene)-N′-(1-methyl-5-tetrazolyl)hydrazines and N-benzylidene-N′-toluene-p-sulphonylhydrazines into hydrazides is effected by the deacetylation of substituted N-acetyl-hydrazides (derived from these materials) with 10% sodium hydroxide solution.
