Optically active 7-oxodibenz[a,kl]anthracene-13-carboxylic acid and its methyl ester
Abstract
Optically active derivatives of 7-oxodibenz[a,kl]anthracene substituted in the 13-position have been synthesised and their racemisation studied in solution. The Arrhenius parameters and transition-state theory functions for racemisation of these compounds are compared with those of some optically active members of the 1,1′-binaphthyl series, one of which is newly synthesised.
