Condensation reactions of 5-(pyrrol-2-ylmethyl)pyrrolidones and related compounds

Abstract

Examples of the use of 5-(pyrrol-2-ylmethyl)pyrrolidones for the synthesis of macrocyclic tetrapyrrolic structures of the dehydrocorrin type are described. The same intermediates and related compounds have been used to prepare models of various bile pigments.
