Some aliphatic diphosphonic tetrachlorides

Abstract

Diphosphonic tetrachlorides of general type Cl2PO(CH2)xPOCl2 were prepared and characterised, completing the series with x= 1–10. Periodicity of melting points of these substances was noted for the first time, this phenomenon being similar to that observed in several series of organic compounds devoid of phosphorus.
