Immunogenic cell death-inducing Rh(I) and Ir(I) complexes with bis(imino)acenaphthene-derived ligands: insights into the role of the metal center and the ligands

The Rh(I) complex 3a with the 1,2-bis[(2,6-diisopropylphenyl)imino]acenaphthene (dpp-bian) ligand induces type I immunogenic cell death (ICD), whereas the analogous Ir(I) complex does not, revealing metal-specific immunogenicity.

The impact of albumin conjugation on the cytotoxic properties of cisplatin, oxaliplatin and auranofin in cancer cells

An effective and selective non-heme iron-catalyzed hydroxylation of alkane C–H bonds

Mononuclear non-heme iron complexes 1 and 2 demonstrate excellent selectivity in the oxidation of alkanes under ambient conditions. HR-MS combined with EPR analysis identified the involvement of the FeIII-peroxo intermediate.

A platinated prodrug leveraging PROTAC technology for targeted protein degradation and enhanced antitumor efficacy

PROTAC–Pt(IV) represents a new class of dual-action Pt(IV) prodrugs integrating platinum drugs with PROTAC-mediated protein degradation, exhibiting superior antitumor efficacy compared to conventional Pt(IV) prodrug and PROTAC alone in vivo.

Novel zinc(II) phthalocyanine nanoparticles as a diagnosis–treatment nanoprobe for photoacoustic-imaging-guided synergistic photothermal/photodynamic-enhanced cancer therapy

In this work, novel zinc(II) phthalocyanine nanoparticles (ZnPcNPs) have been developed and verified to be a promising PTT/PDT agent with a high photoconversion efficiency of 30.01% under 660 nm NIR-I laser exposure.

This special collection of Inorganic Chemistry Frontiers is dedicated to the 11th Asian Biological Inorganic Chemistry Conference (AsBIC11), which was held in Guilin, China from December 1-6, 2024.  

The AsBIC Conference is an essential event for the bioinorganic chemistry community in the Asia-Pacific region. This special collection for AsBIC11 aims to provide an alternative platform, in addition to the conference, to showcase the vibrant development of bioinorganic chemistry in the region.
