Facile synthesis and properties of thioamide-containing polymers

A facile and efficient strategy to prepare thioamide-containing polymers in a controlled fashion is developed. The thionation could endow polymers with more pronounced metal-ion-dependent solution behavior and stronger Au/Ag/Hg-coordinating capacity.

Zwitterionic polymerization of glycolide catalyzed by pyridine

Pyridine is shown to be an effective catalyst for the snthesis of low molar mass cyclic polyglcolides via zwittzerionic polymerization. The cyclic polyglycolides form extended-ring crystals in the mass range below m/z 3000.
