Discovery of new triterpene glycosides from Dendrobium officinale with their α-glucosidase and α-amylase inhibitory activity

Seven new oleanane saponins were discovered from Dendrobium officinale. These saponins containing 29-noroleana-12,20(30)-dien-28-oic acid framework, caffeoyl, and coumaroyl moieties potentially inhibited α-glucosidase and α-amylase activities.

Carpesabrolide A, a novel meroterpenoid with anti-inflammatory activity from Carpesium abrotanoides

Carpesabrolide A is a fumaric acid–guaiane sesquiterpenoid hybrid isolated from the medicinal plant Carpesium abrotanoides. It significantly inhibited NO production with an IC50 value of 2.7 μM.

Theoretical insight of reactive oxygen species scavenging mechanism in lignin waste depolymerization products

Syringol derivatives outperform phenolic antioxidants in non-polar solvents. HT mechanism is the favoured mechanism to scavenge hydroperoxyl radical in substituted syringols. Based on ASM analysis, the hydrogen bond is the key factor in increasing both strain and interaction energy.
