A stable sulfone based electrolyte for high performance rechargeable Li–O2 batteries

Abstract

A tetramethylene sulfone based electrolyte was used in rechargeable Li–O2 batteries for the first time. Without a catalyst, superior battery performances were successfully obtained, and desired lithium peroxide (Li2O2) dominates the discharge product.
