Perspective on chymotrypsin detection

Abstract

Chymotrypsin is one of the most extensively known proteases participating in the pathogenesis of various diseases, which can be used in drug discovery and clinical diagnosis. Thus, developing the reliable and sensitive detection method of chymotrypsin is of the important demanding for practical applications. Herein, some commonly used chymotrypsin detection methods, such as electrochemical detection, colorimetric reaction detection, fluorescence detection, surface plasmon resonance detection, and liquid crystal detection, are reviewed in detail. In the future, methods for chymotrypsin detection that have high sensitivity, long-term stability, low cost, operation convenience, and are specific equipment free still need to be developed.
