A GeSe micro air brick crystal-based film for the sunlight photodegradation of dye-polluted waters

Abstract

In this study, for the first time, a GeSe micro air brick (MAB) crystal-based film was applied to the photodegradation of rhodamine B (RhB) dye in polluted water under visible light irradiation. Moreover, the RhB photodegradation performance of the GeSe MAB crystal-based film was systematically studied. In contrast to the GeSe powder, the GeSe MAB crystal-based film exhibited a superior RhB photodegradation efficiency due to the lower light reflection efficiency of the MAB crystal film structure. The best RhB photodegradation efficiency of 93.7% was achieved under 2 h of solar light irradiation, attributed to the synergistic effects of the surface morphology of GeSe MAB crystals.
