This work demonstrated a regulable cross-coupling of alcohols with benzothiazole under visible light. Two kinds of products, alkyl- and acetyl-derived benzothiazoles, are achieved with high yields up to 99% in Ar and 90% in air, respectively.
Benzothiazoles are an important class of heterocycles for the synthesis of pharmaceuticals. This review describes many direct and green methods for the synthesis of 2-substituted benzothiazoles under transition metal catalysis or metal-free systems.
Benzothiazoles play significant roles in modern therapeutical chemistry owing to their significant effects and their integration into various pharmaceutical agents. Novel strategies targeting therapeutic benzothiazoles have been developed.
[P4444][Benoxa] ionic liquid was discovered to be very effective for the synthesis of benzothiazoles via cyclization of 2-aminothiophenols with CO2 and hydrosilanes at ambient conditions, and a series of benzothiazoles were obtained in high yields.
CuI@UiO-67-bpy was successfully synthesized, and it displayed high catalytic activity in the direct C–H arylation of azoles.
