Bioactive chitosan scaffolds reinforced with hydroxyapatite and nickel tungstate for bone tissue engineering

Chitosan/hydroxyapatite scaffolds with NiWO4 nanoparticles showed improved structure, controlled ion release, antimicrobial activity, and enhanced osteogenic response at low content, while higher concentrations induced cytotoxic effects.

Piezostimulation using ultrasound-active poly-L-lactide films: the effects of a ZnO filler and cold atmospheric plasma surface treatment

A ZnO filler and cold atmospheric plasma boost the US response of piezo-PLLA films and improve cell–film contact. Enhanced piezostimulation transfers stimuli more efficiently, increasing antimicrobial activity and promoting human cell proliferation.

AntiCD44 antibody-conjugated gold nanoparticles for targeted photothermal therapy of endometriotic cells

Upon delivery to CD44(+) endometriotic cells, Au@P_AbCD44 was internalised via clathrin-mediated endocytosis. Laser exposure of cells, based on LSPR properties, increased the temperature and promoted apoptotic over necrotic cell death.

A study of saponin-encapsulated ultrasound microbubbles Rb3NPs@MBs for atherosclerosis targeted treatment

Here we developed a new drug for treatment of atherosclerosis. It can clear 1/3 area of the plaque area targeting the aortic arch within three weeks. It brings hope for the rapid treatment of atherosclerosis.

About this collection
