Tuning the magnetic properties of NiPS3 through organic-ion intercalation

The intercalation of different organic cations in the layered antiferromagnet NiPS3 yields ferrimagnetic ordering with a molecule-dependent transition temperature. A successful intercalation is demonstrated for bulk crystals and exfoliated flakes.

About this collection

The Journal of Materials Chemistry annual lectureship, established in 2010, honours early-career scientists who have made a significant contribution to the field of materials chemistry.

Dr Guanjie He (University College London, UK) is the recipient of the 2025 Journal of Materials Chemistry Lectureship. We have also recognised two outstanding runners-up, Dr Xiaoli Liu (Xi’an Jiaotong University, China) and Dr Beatriz Martín-García (CIC nanoGUNE, Spain).

Each year we have a large number of excellent researchers nominated for the lectureship award across Journal of Materials Chemistry A, B and C. To recognise the diversity of the three journals, overall community and candidates nominated each year, we have decided to additionally recognise runners-up for the Journal of Materials Chemistry Lectureship.

To celebrate, we have collated some of Xiaoli and Beatriz's publications in Royal Society of Chemistry journals in this 2025 Lectureship runners-up web collection.

Why not also check out our collections celebrating the 2025 Journal of Materials Chemistry Lectureship winner: Guanjie He and our 2025 Journal of Materials Chemistry Lectureship shortlisted candidates
