An alternative reaction pathway triggered by oxygen vacancies for boosting selective hydrodeoxygenation reactions

The Co/CoOx catalyst with rich oxygen vacancies was found to be robust for mild and selective hydrodeoxygenation reactions. The oxygen vacancies promote the activation of substrates, and enable the reactions in direct hydrogenolysis pathway.

Co(dppbsa)-catalyzed reductive N,N-dimethylation of nitroaromatics with CO2 and hydrosilane

A novel half-sandwich Co(dppbsa) ([Co]) was synthesized and employed for the catalytic N,N-dimethylation of nitroaromatics with CO2 and hydrosilane. The same catalyst also enabled the highly efficient reduction of nitroaromatics to aromatic amines.
