An endoplasmic reticulum-targeted NIR-II type I AIE photosensitiser for triggering pyroptosis
Abstract
In this work, we developed an endoplasmic reticulum-targeted NIR-II photosensitizer (TI-ER), which exhibits type I ROS generation and photothermal capabilities. After formulation into nanoparticles (NPs), TI-ER NPs were efficiently internalized by cancer cells and induced pyroptosis under 635 nm laser irradiation, efficiently ablating both cancer cells and multicellular tumor spheroids.
