A novel cascade radical addition/cyclization reaction of non-activated olefins and oxamic acids has been proposed.
The chemodivergent synthesis of polycyclic quinazolinones is reported. It features green conditions, broad functional group compatibility, tolerance toward 1°, 2° and 3° alkyl radicals and applicability to gram-scale synthesis.
A general, mild and simple procedure has been developed for the construction of quinazolinone-[2,3]-fused polycycles in a three-step “one-pot” fashion.
A base-promoted atom economical and unexpectedly selective cyclization strategy was developed for the synthesis of indole-fused azepino[2,1-b]quinazolinones and spiroindole-pyrrolo[2,1-b]quinazolinones.
An efficient and catalyst-free protocol for the synthesis of pyrido-fused heterocycles under microwave irradiation via a [3 + 3] annulation reaction and their application as photoluminescent chemosensors are presented.
