Colloidal materials based on polymer assemblies have been limited by inefficient self-assembly techniques and low particle concentration. The advent of PISA has provided a new platform for the efficient preparation of high-concentration polymer assemblies. Over the past decade, the rapid development of PISA has greatly promoted the design and fabrication of novel nanostructured hydrogels based on polymer assemblies. In this review, we summarized the recent advances in PISA for the fabrication of polymer assembly-based nanostructured hydrogels, including colloidal hydrogels, multiphase hydrogels, and micelle-crosslinked hydrogels.
