In recent years, aqueous zinc ion batteries (ZIBs) have emerged as promising candidates for energy storage systems due to their inherent safety, environmental friendliness, and cost-effectiveness. This review provides a comprehensive overview of the advancements and prospects of aqueous electrolytes for ZIBs.
