Metal–organic frameworks as acid- and/or base-functionalized catalysts for tandem reactions
Abstract
With molecular level structure control and modularity, metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) have provided well-defined platforms for catalysis, which has practically become a rapidly rising multidisciplinary research field. In this Frontier article, we have focused on summarizing the development of precise design and construction of intrinsic MOF-based acid- and/or base-functionalized catalysts in tandem/cascade (domino) reactions over the past five years. This review incorporates a brief discussion on the present challenges, future trends and prospects with MOFs anchoring acidic and/or basic active sites.
