Two green Ir(III) complexes based on the ligands containing indolo[3,2,1-jk]carbazole and pyrimidine units show high PLQYs and small FWHMs. The OLEDs show good performances with an EQEmax of 31.3% and extremely low efficiency roll-offs.
Two yellow Ir(III) complexes based on the main ligands containing rigid indolo[3,2,1-jk]carbazole and thiazole units show high efficiencies with narrow emission. And the OLEDs show good performances with an EQEmax of up to 25.2% and a FWHM of 31 nm.
Following optimisation of the DSSC architecture, the newly obtained D–π–A molecule demonstrated high efficiency under low illumination conditions.
Density functional theory has been employed to study indolo[3,2,1-jk]carbazole donor-based dyes, incorporating one and two units of 2,4-dimethoxybenzene auxiliary donors.
Modulating the peripheral large steric hindrance of iridium complexes for achieving narrowband emission and pure red OLEDs with an EQE of 32.0%.
