Twenty-seven PPAPs (1–27), all decorated with a methyl group at C-5, were identified from Hypericum ascyron L. Compounds 1–3 are characterized by an unusual cyclopentane framework. Several compounds exhibited potent inhibition of LVGCCs.
The role of the prenyl motif in coumarins, xanthones, flavonoids, polyprenylated acyl/benzoyl-phloroglucinols, naphthoquinones, volatile oils, resveratrol and steroidal saponin derivatives as antidepressants.
Acylphloroglucinol meroterpenoids from Dryopteris crassirhizoma: isolation, biomimetic synthesis, anti-triple negative breast cancer activity, ECD calculations, and NMR-based method for relative configuration assignment.
Five nor-seco-PPAPs with a novel linear 5-5/6/5 tetracyclic skeleton (1–5) were isolated from Hypericum monogynum. 1 may elicit its protective effect against H2O2-induced myocardial cell injury via activation of the Akt/mTOR signaling pathway.
Hyperpatone A (1), a highly oxidated polycyclic polyprenylated acylphloroglucinol (PPAP), with good cytotoxic and anti-flammatory activities was isolated from Hypericum patulum under the guidance of LC-MS investigation.
