Metal–organic frameworks constructed from an [MS4Cux]x−2 (M = W, Mo) unit: isomerization of the cluster unit induced by temperature

Two MOFs based on [WS4Cu4]2+ or unprecedented [WS4Cu6]4+·I·[WS4Cu6]4+, and a MOF based on [MoS4Cu4]2+ with 9,10-di(pyridin-4-yl)anthracene were obtained. Temperature was important for the isomerization of [WS4Cux]x−2 in the formation of two MOFs based on [WS4Cux]x−2.

A phosphonate–lanthanoid polyoxometalate coordination polymer: {Ce2P2W16O60L2}n zipper chains

The first coordination polymer of a polyoxometalate bi-functionalized by phosphonate and lanthanoid groups forms when {CeIII22,Image ID:d1ce00896j-t1.gif-PV2WVI16O60)L2} units are joined by direct inter-cluster Ce–O[double bond, length as m-dash]W bonds into 1D chains.

Biocompatible MOF-808 as an iodophor antimicrobial agent with controlled and sustained release of iodine

Cluster-based complexes 1 and 2 with [Cu6I5] and [Cu8I8] polynuclear motifs were constructed via a conformation-adaptive self-assembly strategy, respectively. Two Cu(I) complexes exhibited photocatalytic activity to the CuAAC reaction in water solution.

TIPA-ligand-based luminescent Cd(II) organic frameworks as an outstanding sensor for detecting Fe3+ in an aqueous medium

Two new Cd-based LMOFs (MOF-1 and MOF-2) were prepared with good photoluminescence properties. MOF-2 exhibits high sensitivity in detecting Fe3+ with a very large quenching coefficient of 27 027 M−1. It has potential application in the chemical sensing of CrO42− and Cr2O72−.
