Croconium-Functionalized Macrophage Biomimetic Retention Vesicles System for Photothermal Therapy of Infected Wound
Abstract
Wound healing is vulnerable to the bacterial infection and inflammation storm, extending the progress of wound repair and increasing the risk of a sepsis development. As antibacterial, the abuse of conventional antibiotics led to the emergence of antibiotic-resistant bacteria, which has become an one of the dominant challenges in human health. Therefore, it is urgent to develop a simultaneously effective antibacterial and antioxidant strategy for achieving efficient repair of infectious wounds. Herein, we synthesized a croconium-functionalized macrophage biomimetic retention vesicles system (Cro-CDs@MM) possessing antioxidant properbility for photothermal therapy (PTT) of staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus) infected wound. Firstly, the high photostable Cro-CDs@MM exhibite the effective killing of S. aureus under the irradiation of near infrared light. More important, the excess of intracellular reactive oxygen species (ROS) can be eliminated by Cro-CDs@MM, significantly accelerated the cells migration. Taken together, the Cro-CDs@MM biomimetic nanosystem presents a antibiotic-free antibacterial treatment strategy provide a potential tool for the infectious wound healing therapy in the future.
