Tandem reaction to access isoquinolone-linked covalent organic frameworks for photocatalytic synthesis of benzimidazoles

Abstract

The development of novel linkage motifs is a promising strategy to diversify the structural topologies and improve the physicochemical properties of covalent organic frameworks (COFs). Herein, the novel isoquinolone-linked COFs were successfully synthesized via tandem imine condensation/6π-electrocyclization/oxidation reactions, which exhibited excellent performance in the photocatalytic synthesis of benzimidazoles.
