New sustainable polymers and oligomers for Cultural Heritage conservation

We highlight here current trends of “green” materials for Cultural Heritage, and we introduce a new methodology to determine macromolecule's log P, applying it to the development of new smart organogels for Cultural Heritage conservation.

Exploring effects of polymeric stabiliser molecular weight and concentration on emulsion production via stirred cell membrane emulsification

Polymer stabiliser adsorption kinetics influence a stirred-cell membrane emulsification process output. An optimized combination of low/higher MW PVA at very low concentration (0.1 wt%) produces narrow size distribution and size-controlled droplets.

About this collection

We are delighted present a cross-journal themed collection across Chemical Science, Polymer Chemistry, Soft Matter and RSC Applied Polymers to highlight and raise awareness of sustainable polymers in liquid formulations across the breadth of the chemical sciences community. Guest-edited by Anju Massey-Brooker (Industry Associate, Sustainable Polymers Initiative) and working with the Royal Society of Chemistry’s Sustainable Polymers in Liquid Formulations (PLFs) Taskforce, the goal of this collection is to highlight this incredibly important topic and spark new ideas, encourage future developments and form collaborations in this exciting and important area. A update on the work of the PLFs Taskforce can be found in a recent issue of Chemistry World.
