Advances in copper cobaltate-based nanomaterial electrodes for supercapacitor applications
Abstract
Supercapacitors (SCs), a new class of energy storage devices, have been widely investigated due to their high power density, long cycling stability and fast charging and discharging capabilities. Copper cobaltate nanomaterials have especially gained much attention as electrode materials for supercapacitors owing to their simple preparation, integration possibility, and high theoretical capacity. This review mainly focused on the latest achievements in applying copper cobaltate-based nanomaterials as supercapacitor electrodes. Notably, the impact of advantages of morphologies (nanowire, nanosheet, microflower, core–shell, etc.), supports (Ni foam, carbon materials and their derivatives, conductive polymers, MOFs and MXene), and heteroatomic dopants (S, P, Ni, Ag and Mn) on the electrochemical properties of copper cobaltate-based nanomaterials is systematically discussed. Finally, challenges and perspectives toward the future development of copper cobaltate-based nanomaterials for supercapacitors are presented.
