Perspective
Copper halide-based organic–inorganic hybrid structures exhibit potentials as rare-earth element (REE)-free lighting materials. However, compared to the performance of commercial phosphors, the luminescence efficiency and stability of these hybrid materials need to be optimized. In this article, the structural characteristics and synthetic methods of these hybrid materials are introduced. In addition, strategies for enhancing the stability and quantum yields of these compounds are reviewed. Finally, the approaches for white-light emission are summarized.
