Nickel and Copper Co-catalysed Atroposelective C-Si Cross-Coupling to Axially Chiral Heterobiaryl Silanes

Abstract

Organosilanes, especially their chiral derivatives, play increasingly vital roles in organic synthesis and materials science. However, general methods for their asymmetric synthesis remain limited. Existing approaches to axially chiral silanes largely rely on noble-metal catalysis. Here, we report a Ni/Cu co-catalyzed atroposelective C(sp²)–Si cross-coupling of heterobiaryl triflates with Si–B reagents, providing efficient access to axially chiral silanes. This method offers broad substrate scope and operational simplicity, establishing a sustainable strategy for constructing valuable chiral silicon-based compounds.
