Abstract

An I₂ promoted domino protocol was developed to construct 2-acylbenzothiazoles from simple and readily available aromatic ketones/unsaturated methyl ketones and o-aminobenzenethiols. The reaction proceeded smoothly under metal-free and peroxide-free conditions.
