Nitridation-driven construction of Ru/WNO catalysts enables highly selective cellulose to C2 alcohols hydrogenolysis
Abstract
Nitrogen-controlled nitridation of WOx yields Ru/WNO catalysts with tunable acidity, vacancy density, and Ru electronic structure. An optimally formed Ru/WNO/W interface enables selective retro-aldol scission and hydrogenation, affording 77.4% C2 alcohols selectivity from cellulose, whereas over-nitridation generates an inactive Ru–W alloy.
