Electrochemical synthesis and transformation of organoboron compounds

Abstract

Organoboron compounds possess widespread applications in organic synthesis as well as pharmaceutical science and materials science. With the rapid development of organic electrochemistry, electrochemical borylation and hydroboration have emerged as powerful tools for the synthesis of organoboron compounds. Besides, the utilization of organoboron compounds in electrosynthesis to access functionalized molecules is in full swing. This review aims to highlight the recent advances in the synthesis of organoboron compounds as well as their transformation by employing electrochemical strategies. We endeavor to shed light on new perspectives and inspire further research and applications in this emerging area.
